Campaign to Renovate the R.G. Lee Chapel
The Robert G. Lee Chapel
Built in 1958 and named for the former pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, is the worship center of the university where special programs and spiritual emphases are held.
Chapel services are held every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the R. G. Lee Chapel. Worship services are led by faculty members, local pastors, or other invited guests. These are always times of great spiritual challenge and inspiration for the entire university family.
Students and their families are also encouraged to join one of the local churches for worship, spiritual growth, and service.
The last renovation of the R.G. Lee Chapel occurred in 2000, but it does not currently meet the needs of BUF's growing student body. Additional seating is one of the highest priorities of this project as BUF plans to install 350 seats.

Every great movement begins with a single step. By joining the campaign, you are adding your support to the foundation of this renovation. This level allows every member of the BUF family—students, alumni, and friends—to have a hand in preparing the room for the spiritual awakening of the next generation.

The R.G. Lee Chapel is a place of partnership. At this level, you are providing half of the investment needed to install a new, modern seat. You are essentially "partnering" with another donor to ensure that when a student walks into chapel on Tuesday morning, there is a place specifically prepared for them to hear from God.

This is our primary goal. A gift of $300 fully covers the cost to purchase and install one of the 350 new seats in the chapel and creates the “cushion” for additional renovation. This level creates a direct legacy: for years to come, a "saint" (a BUF student) will be seated in the chair you provided, being challenged and inspired to lead with excellence and humility in the mission field or the marketplace.

The Shepherd’s Circle is for those who wish to lead the way in our campus’s spiritual growth. Named in honor of the pastors and mentors who have stood behind the R.G. Lee pulpit since 1958, this gift covers more than three full seats. As a member of the Shepherd’s Circle, you aren't just providing furniture; you are ensuring that BUF remains a "shining light" where the next generation of Christian leaders is gathered, discipled, and sent out.
